Yes! JobChef is free to get started. New users receive free onboarding tokens, and you earn daily bonus tokens automatically just for opening the app. Each AI feature consumes a small number of tokens. If you need more, you can purchase token packs at any time — but most users find the free daily tokens are plenty for regular job hunting.

JobChef is available on Android, iOS, and as a web app at jobchef.in. All your job profiles, resumes, email drafts, and interview history are synced across devices via your account, so you can seamlessly switch between your phone and laptop.

Simply paste a job description and your resume into JobChef. The AI automatically extracts the company name, role title, and recruiter contact emails from the job posting. Yes! Every cold email generation also includes a polished follow-up email — a brief, professional nudge you can send 5–7 days after the initial outreach if you haven't heard back. Both the initial email and the follow-up are generated together and saved to your email history.

Yes. Before generating, you can select the tone of your email — for example, formal, confident, or friendly. The AI adapts the language and style of both the subject line and email body to match your selected tone while keeping the content professional and relevant to the role.

An ATS (Applicant Tracking System) score measures how well your resume matches a specific job description. Most employers use ATS software to automatically filter and rank resumes before a human recruiter ever reads them. A low ATS score means your resume could get rejected by the system even if you're a great fit. JobChef scores your resume from 0 to 100 and tells you exactly how to improve it.

JobChef's ATS checker gives you a specific action plan: it shows you the missing keywords the employer is looking for, highlights your resume's strengths and weaknesses for the role, and gives 2–3 actionable improvement tips. Common fixes include adding keywords from the job description to your skills section, quantifying your achievements with numbers, and aligning your job titles with the role you're applying for.

JobChef supports PDF resumes. You can upload your resume as a PDF and JobChef will automatically extract the text for AI analysis. Your uploaded resume is saved securely to your job profile so you don't have to re-upload it every time.

JobChef's interview simulator is fully conversational — it adapts in real time based on your answers. Here's how it works:

1. Setup: Enter your job role, experience level, and optionally paste a job description and your resume for a fully personalized session.

2. Topic selection: The AI identifies 4–6 key interview topic areas for your role (e.g., system design, behavioral, algorithms).

3. Conversational Q&A: Questions go from Easy → Medium → Hard. If your answer is incomplete, the AI follows up with a targeted deeper question. If you nail it, it moves to the next topic.

4. Real-time feedback: Each answer is scored 0–100 with specific feedback and a model answer.

5. Final report: At the end, you get an overall performance score, key strengths, and areas to improve.

JobChef supports multiple interview types: Technical (coding, system design, algorithms), Behavioral / HR (STAR method, culture fit, situational questions), Mixed (combination of both), and role-specific formats. The AI generates questions tailored to the type you select and your target job role.

Yes. Every completed interview session — including all questions, your answers, scores, and the final report — is saved to your interview history. You can review past sessions at any time to track your improvement over time.

Yes. Your data is stored securely in Google Firebase with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. When you run an ATS check or generate an email, your resume is sent to the Google Gemini API transiently for analysis only — it is never used to train AI models and is never shared with third-party advertisers or data brokers. You can delete specific resumes, emails, or interview records directly within the app. To permanently delete your entire account and all associated data, visit our Account Deletion page. Your data will be permanently and irreversibly erased from our systems.
